Infinitus Maelstrom by cosmicbound Infinitus Maelstrom by cosmicbound
Infinite, the maelstrom's cosmic swirl throughout the endless empyrean; indeed, its very form transfinitely digressing, the stars betwixt the unfathomably fathomable; and the celestial seas of infinity shine endlessly so. Indefineable in its depths and without measure, the empyreal nebulae of the cosmos forms without form in its resolutely irresolute manner; the boundless maelstrom in all of its resplendence.

After the potentially abstruse description, I present to ye a new piece. Enjoy if you so wish, and thanks in advance for any feedback.

One thing that I noticed is that not all of your stars have the same flares :) That's weird ;)

I like this piece, very vivid and living nebulae. I don't know about the planets tho, think this piece could've done without 'em also.

I agree with Joe, it's a bit too sharpened? Because it's very cranked in sharpness, good and bad.

Sweet style still mate, keep at it!

I really like your works, your nebulae and all but - why do you allways have everything so oversharpened (or is it an add noise filter)? I mean - I usually fav it (and I'll do that even this time), but it could have so much more depth - this way it's kinda flat. If you are doing it solely on purpose to lower the quality, so no-one would rip your pieces, than it's a clever way but rather two-sided.

Just my 2 cents, Joe. :)

Thanks, and yeah, it's sharpening, though it isn't applied for the sake of stopping rippers. A fair consideration to apply the sharpening less generally however. ;p

Thanks, it's a mixture of techniques. Most of it is randomised noise and such, but modified by the likes of the clone brush so as to customise it.

Uuuh...Can you repeat the words what you said about the...things? :slow:

Lol, well with the comment aside, this is a nice pic, the nebula is very realistic, but that green dust cloud kinda ruins it :p it just dosn't fit well with the other colours. Anyway, I like the lighting on the planets, very crisp and well-lit, gives it a real 3D look 8-)

Though I love the nebula and the realistic look of it, I really can't get my head around those planets. Dunno whether it's the lighting or colour or what, but the nebula and stars seem to have a very 'warm' and soft distant feel about them, and then suddenly, the planets are a little.. I dunno.. Perhaps, a wierd depth perception?

Still love it though.

I'm crazily jealous as to how you do all this stuff. Textures, and how well you brush those nebulas. Wish I could do that! >.<

Great job, keep it up!

Glad you liked it, thanks - and I see what you mean, it does give it a certain sense of dimension - I would suppose that it could seem like an awkward juxtoposition or an interesting sense of perspective. It would be understandable if one found this a detractor in terms of observing the backdrop though. Also, you can make 'all this stuff' so long as you attempted to until you could, with a bit of practice and/or observation it certainly becomes quite doable!

Indeed. Persistence is the key and all that :P

Been practicing brushing techniques, but for some reason, my hand never draws what my brain tells it to.

Thanks for the advice ^^

i really like this, but all those stars and nebulas would create so much light that the planet and moon would be really really bright.

Thanks. Of course, one could speculate that if it this were like a photo, then it could be a compilation of different exposure shots. By this I imply that the planets aren't really as close to the light sources as may be apparent (and equally that the brightness may only be apparent).
